Lee Broom

Award-winning British designer, Lee Broom, presents his fourth collection at this year’s London Design Festival with the launch of a new lighting range, ‘One Light Only’.

After the success of ‘Heritage Boy’ at last year’s festival, ‘One Light Only’ (OLO) is a new collection of striking pendant lighting. Drawing on Broom’s fashion background, OLO is inspired by Art Deco jewellery and fashion photography from the late 1970’s.

OLO is characterised by a jewel-like gem faceted exterior lighting shell. The lights are presented in two striking finishes, matt white or polished gold. The interior shell of each light is juxtaposed against the exterior finish; reflective gold facets shine against the subtle matt white interior finish and vice versa

Brodie Neills

Brodie Neills Reverb chair

This wire frame re-interpretation of Brodie Neills ‘Reverb Chair,’ amplifies the original’s vortex feel while mirror polished stainless steel rods map the expanding geometry of the overall conical form. Very nice.

Barnaby Tuke

This simple wallclock draws on references from the design and styling of dashboard dials and instruments, and combines this pared back aesthetic with the playful use of colour. It is intended as an everyday object that can be appreciated as much for its pleasingly spare appearance as it can for its useful function. This clock is the first in a line of limited edition, collaboratively designed and produced homeware for Barnaby, with additions planned for 2010.

Designed for Innermost

Clinker by Rich Brilliant Willing, a new American design trio based in New York, created the second furniture range for the Innermost collection. Innermost met Rich Brilliant Willing in New York and it is the first collaboration between the two companies. Clinker is created from wood slats resembling clapboards, overlapping each other, random lengths create the haphazard form of the tables. The tables have a clear glass top allowing the inner wooden structure to be visible, the range will be available in bright lacquered colours including orange, black and white and also a natural oak finish

Rich Brilliant Willing were named among the "Top 40" designers by I.D. magazine in January 2009, formed by Theo Richardson, Charles Brill and Alexander Williams, Rich Brilliant Willing is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary design studio. Their methodology is evident in their work, a combination of technical sophistication with old-fashioned sleight of hand.

Butt Stool

Butt Stool by Established & Sons

A molded, stackable stool with a tractor seat shaped top and three bowling ball-like pits (to better hold and move the seat). Part of the new Estd collection by Established & Sons, "Versatile, comfortable and economical, this stackable plastic stool is a hard-working piece of furniture. The Butt stool’s ergonomic top borrows its form from a generic tractor seat"

Purewhyte

Kirsty Whyte London based product designer and founder of Purewhyte design studio.

Kirsty has recently returned from exhibiting at Milan Furniture Fair where she reveled a new range of furniture and accessories. The Array bowls really caught my eye, each bowl is made from one single piece of folded sheet steel. Available in Aqua, Mushroom and Magenta they add a refreshing punch of colour to any table top.
